History/Background:
Birth Arc:
Jouten was born to a beautiful women in the Hidden Cloud Village. But if only that's how his story could start. Jouten's mother lived in a small village near the outskirts of Lighting Country. At that time, she made a living by delivering mail within the village and its neighbours. She had been specifically picked for that job because of her incredible speed. She had lived alone until she had met Jouten's father. They had met when she was on delivery to an outside village. She had bumped into him and had dropped all her mail. The man helped her up and apologized for his carelessness. He had a rough exterior and a rude attitude, but she knew him better than that after she had gotten to know him.
A year after their first encounter, Jouten's mother had become pregnant. The two were overjoyed. But unfortunately, the happiness in their life was shattered. Jouten's mother was on delivery yet again and had been stopped by what seemed to be a ninja. She didn't know much about them, except for the headband on his forehead. She tried to continue with her work, but the ninja insisted her on staying. He had a devious, mad look on his face. She then resorted to her speed and sprinted away from the ninja. He appeared infront of her and struck her down. He withdrew a kunai and licked it. He whispered inappropriate things to her as she watched him approach in fear.
In a flash, Jouten father appeared and struck the ninja across the head. The ninja flew a few metres away and instantly recovered his posture. Jouten's father and the ninja clashed in battle for the next few minutes. To Jouten's mother, it seemed like years. In the end, the wounded ninja escaped. But Jouten's father laid facedown in the dirt, motionless. Jouten's mother ended up fainting out of shock.
A year has passed since that fateful day, but Jouten's mother remained positive when around her young boy, Jouten Ittai. She had named him after his father. Friends of Jouten's mother helped her out and took care of her as she raised little Jouten. But this is not where Jouten was born. He was born within the Hidden Cloud Village. His mother was not able to get the required help for the birth in her little village and had stayed in an inn a few months prior to his birth. A few months after his birth, she returned to her village, a proud mother.
When he reached the age of 16, Jouten had the appearance of his father, or so his mother thought. He never knew his father and was a little upset. But he never let his emotions show, either. Anyways, his mother decided that there are terrible people out in the world and wished for Jouten to be protected. Or at least able to protect himself. She had enrolled him at the nearest ninja academy. That was the one in the Hidden Cloud Village. She had sprinted there with her son at her side, keeping pace. She was proud that he had been able to inherit the ability of her speed. He had helped her on some of the deliveries she went on and learn to keep pace.
Once they reached the village, she was already in tears. She knew she'd have to leave him here alone to continue with the training. Jouten understood that his mother couldn't possibly afford to live in the village. But he comforted her with quirky comments and reasons for her to go back. He had also inherited his fathers attitude and social skills. She laughed and kissed him goodbye and left. A Jounin of the village showed him where in the village he will stay and where the academy was. At this point, Jouten wasn't too friendly with the people of the Hidden Cloud yet.
Academy Arc:
During his days in the academy, Jouten stayed quiet and passive, doing only what required him to pass. He spoke with the other students, but overall kept to himself. He felt a little weird around the other students, knowing they were a few years younger than he was. But he didn't care. He needed to learn. He was able to learn the justsus and lessons they taught there fairly easily. But Jouten had something the other students didn't. One teacher saw it and took him aside to personally train him. What Jouten had not realized was his "unique" power. Whenever he got close to anything that used electricity, it would either be drained or blow up. His teacher was a little curious to learn as well, so he helped him control this unknown ability.
As the weeks passed, Jouten trained hard with his teacher, who he now called Sensei. Over the weeks, Jouten had learn the basic academy requirements, as well as his own unique abilities. He was now able to use his unique ability to manipulate electricity. He was able to absorb electricity and his body would convert it into chakra. This also worked the other way around, as he could change his chakra into electricity.
The academy's graduation came around and Jouten passed with flying colors. His Sensei was proud to hand him his new headband, which Jouten wore proudly. He was now a Cloud Genin.
Genin Arc:
It was the day after the graduation and Jouten had met two other young shinobi. These were to be his teammates as of that day on. A few minutes later, the teammates were now aquainted. Just as the finished laughing at one of the other kid's joke, their new Sensei appeared. To Jouten's surprise, it was the same Sensei that privately tutored him. Jouten thought this was going to be easy.
The Sensei went over a few rules and guidelines for successful teamwork. After that, they trained for the next 2 weeks, preparing for future missions. Jouten spoke to the others only when it concerned training or missions, but usually kept to himself. The last day of training was rough though. For his teammates at least. The Sensei instructed them to spar with one another to sharpen up their skills. Sadly enough, Jouten had beaten both of them carelessly and easily.
After that, Team 5 had been on and successfully completed all their missions. They had no injuries, nor a scratch. Jouten personally found that boring. He wanted more action and violence. That was his father's recklessness he inherited. Once they completed their 12th successful missions, they were signed up for the upcoming Chuunin Exams. This year, they were being held in Iwa, Earth Country.
The first part of the test was a written one, but they threw a twist on it to make it a little more difficult. Team 5 figured out the little trick and all passed. The second part of the test was a survival activity. The were to travel in a maze of valleys and trentchs in the earth to the end, retrieve a flag, and come back. There were 24 teams, but only 3 flags. This mission could result in death. Jouten had come up with a plan and instructed the others to remain in specified locations unti lthey recieved a signal from Jouten. Jouten, by this time, had improved his already incredible speed. He sped off into the maze as the gates were opened. By the end of the first day, Jouten had reached the 3 flags. His teammates were still halfway through. But they were instructed to not come in any farther. Jouten grabbed all 3 flags and laughed as he placed them and secured them to his back. He then began to sprint all the way back to meet with his teammates.
When he finally met up with his other teammates, one was hardly standing and the other was unconcious. Jouten frowned in disappointment. The one teammate explained what had happened. Apparently, they were attacked by a group from the Grass Village. Jouten laughed and said that Grass ninja were pathetic and that they were even more pathetic for losing to them. Jouten ended up picking up the unconcious teammate and carried him to the gates where it all began. Their team had won the competition flawlessly and no one else qualified. Team 5, the 3 young shinobi, were the only ones to pass. Jouten was now a Chuunin.
Chuunin Arc:
He was applauded by the higher ups for his performance in the Chuunin Exams, but his peers thought is was selfish and greedy. Jouten shrugged off any negative comments. He got the job done and did a little extra. It's not his fault the others failed to get there in time or even take one from him on his way back. Jouten laughed about it.
Jouten's teammates were a little more passive now when it came to battle. Those Grass Ninja sure gave them a shook. One of the teammates stopped focusing on training and started focusing on teaching younger students about battle. The other felt useless when his teamamte was downed and he couldn't help. He took up Medical Ninjutsu. Jouten on the other hand, continued to train himself and learn more about himself. His control over his electricity abilities were improving and he began thinking up new techniques he can call his own. Other jutsus he would learn from other ninja.
Chuunin wasn't all that is was made out to be. Jouten was bored. He went on quests and some were a little more difficult than the Genin quests, but he still managed flawlessly. That is until he heard some of the other Chuunins discussing how to become a Jounin. This caught Jouten's attention. They mentioned something like there is no exam for it, but the Jounins are chosen from the Chuunins by the Raikage. This got Jouten's gears going.
Jouten approached the Raikage's office. He managed to get through security and any other shinobi perfectly. He knocked on the door. The Raikage sounded surprised. "Come in" he said. Jouten opened the door. The Raikage was greatly surprised to see a young Chuunin come in. Alone. "What brings you here, young one?" Jouten smirked. "I'm not so young, but in comparison to yourself, then you may have a point." The Raikage laughed. He then disappeared and reappeared behind Jouten. To the Raikage's surprise, Jouten was standing behind the Raikage. "Oh" said the Raikage, intruiged with Jouten's speed and stealth. "You may be quicker in comparison to me and my old age, but power is still in my advantage." Jouten looked down at the floor, disappointed. "I know."
Since that day, the Raikage had his eye out on Jouten. That was Jouten's plan all along. A few more flawless missions, and the Raikage would have notice him and want his skills. As to Jouten's prediction, just 3 more missions later, the Raikage spoke privately with Jouten and assigned him his Jounin rank. Jouten smiled proudly. He was now a Jounin.
Jounin Arc:
Jounin was much more excited... and violent. Jouten was now assigned more difficult missions than ever before, but he loved it. His skills were improving with every mission and when he had time, went to the side to train his unique techniques. By this time, he had also been taught a few things by the Raikage himself. Jouten felt unstoppable.
Jouten was assigned a mission with 3 other Jounin. One being his childhood Sensei. But one dreadful day, tragedy fell upon Jouten and his teammates. It was a mission to Earth Country, to retrieve stolen papers from Kumo's library. No one knew how the intruder got in and out, but he was warned to be a deadly threat. Jouten licked his lips as he heard those words. But that was Jouten's weakness. He was too cocky and overconfident. The mission seemed to be going as planned, until the group got ambushed. Now, the enemy ninja were no threat, but Jouten was. The other Jounin seemed to be handling themselves fine, so Jouten turned his attention to one of the ambushers. Jouten was stabbed in the arm without even noticing. When the pain struck, Jouten went pale. He had not been physically injured.. ever. This was a new feeling he was feeling. Pain.
His eyes grew large with anger and anguish and he lost his temper. He tried using his new techniques, but he lost control over his lightning. He used to much force and power and it resulted in the entire area being destroyed. After the smoke cleared, Jouten had calmed himself down. He went to the ninja who had stabbed him and searched him. Bingo. He had retrieved the papers and put them away. As he turned around to assemble his team to leave, the other 2 Jounin were trying to help Jouten's former Sensei. Jouten walked over. The Medic Ninja wasn't able to do anything. His Sensei had suffered 3rd degree burns and his nervous system was destroyed. He died moments later. The other 2 Jounin said a little prayer and picked him up and began to head back to Kumo. Jouten stood there. Blank expression. He knew he was the one that did this. He had killed his former Sensei. His closest thing to a friend. A single tear ran down his face and he wiped it. His face still emotionless. He headed back to Kumo.
A funeral was held for the Sensei. Jouten still remained, unemotional the entire time. For the next 2 years, Jouten stopped going out on missions and reamined in the mountains of Kumo to train and control his abilities. He still has not returned and has been deemed as a Missing Ninja. No one knows of his true intentions anymore.
